We ensure that workers always know who to contact for help and advice whilst delivering the service and know the actions to be taken in the event of an emergency. We deliver 24hr support should operate an On-Call system, meaning that workers always have access to management advice and support. These are staffed by people who are experienced and capable of managing diverse queries and responding quickly to emergency situations. We have a clear line of communication available to both the individual, and their extended circle of support always.

Our support and services are designed to meet the needs of adults - people with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and other associated needs. We believe in training and supporting our staff to the highest standards to enable them to have the correct knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide high-quality person-centred care and support.
We perform checks to evidence that workers are competent to carry out their role on an ongoing basis, which also forms one part of the formal supervision process. This helps to demonstrate how training is supporting the worker’s direct practice and helps to identify if the worker requires additional support in their role.
Our formal competency checks are observations of the workers practice whilst they are carrying out key tasks which include checks of the workers practice and knowledge. We have other informal ways that we use to check competency, for example a quiz in a team meeting, discussions about practice in supervisions and creating opportunities for reflective practice. A balance of formal and informal competency checks helps to create a well-rounded view.
